When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive:

  • Email address
  • A username derived from your sign-in provider

2.2 Health and Nutrition Data

To calculate your personalized calorie and macronutrient targets, we collect:

  • Sex, age, height, and weight
  • Activity level and weight goal (lose, maintain, or gain)
  • The meals you log, including food names, portions, and calorie/macro values

2.3 Meal Photos

When you use Formera's AI meal-scanning feature, you take or select a photo of your food. These photos are:

  • Sent to our AI service provider (OpenAI) to identify food items and estimate nutrition
  • Not permanently stored on our servers after processing
  • Not used for any purpose other than providing the analysis

Logging meals manually does not require a photo at all.

2.4 Usage Data

We collect information about how you use the app, including scans performed, subscription status, and app performance/crash reports.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our services
  • Analyze the meal photos you submit and calculate nutrition estimates
  • Calculate and keep your personalized calorie/macro targets up to date

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • OpenAI – AI image and text processing to analyze meal photos. Photos and related data are sent to OpenAI for processing and are subject to their privacy policy.
  • Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple – To authenticate your account.
  • RevenueCat – To manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.
  • Apple App Store / Google Play – For app distribution and in-app purchases.

We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of these third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account, health profile, and meal log information for as long as your account is active, so your diary and progress remain available to you. Meal photos submitted for AI analysis are not stored permanently on our servers. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including your health and nutrition data, against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
